Our services

Survey and data collection

Face to face, by phone or online: whichever channel your data comes from, it reaches you checked and cleaned. We run PAPI, CAPI, CATI and CAWI fieldwork with our own team.

Why does the method matter so much?

The same question is answered differently on paper, on a tablet, on the phone and on screen; the method shapes the data itself.

A method chosen without weighing target audience, questionnaire length, timeline and budget together leads to unfilled quotas or poor answer quality.

We choose the method with you, test the questionnaire where it will be used and check the data while fieldwork runs.

Four channels, one quality standard

  2. CAPI
  3. CATI
  4. CAWI
  5. Clean data

Scope

Every step of data collection, one team.

We run the process end to end, from method selection to delivering cleaned data.

Method and channel selection

How to reach the target audience, questionnaire length and timeline decide whether to work with one method or combine several.

For hard-to-reach groups, we can combine face-to-face interviews with telephone or online surveys.

Data is checked as it comes in from the field.

We filter out missing, inconsistent or unusual records while collection runs; no surprises on delivery day.

Questionnaire testing

We test the questionnaire where it will be used through pilot interviews and fix unclear questions before fieldwork.

Cleaning and delivery

We deliver the data checked and cleaned, in the format agreed at the start of the project.

Delivery

Whatever the channel, you receive the same.

The method changes; the quality of the data we deliver doesn’t.

  • Tested questionnaireYour questionnaire, piloted in the environment it will be used in and finalised.
  • Regular progress updatesQuotas and completed interviews throughout fieldwork.
  • Cleaned dataMissing and inconsistent records removed, in the format you need.
  • Fieldwork summaryWhat happened in the field and the measures taken, by channel.

Process

How it runs in the field.

Whatever the method, data collection runs in the same four steps.

  1. Step 01

    Method selection

We choose the method or mix of methods based on target audience, questionnaire length, timeline and budget.

  2. Step 02

    Questionnaire testing

We test the questionnaire in the environment it will be used in (paper, tablet, phone or web) through pilot interviews.

  3. Step 03

    Data collection

Interviews progress according to the quota plan; we check incoming data while fieldwork runs.

  4. Step 04

    Cleaning and delivery

We remove missing and inconsistent records and deliver data in the agreed format.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Didn’t find your answer?Write to us and we’ll answer your question together.
What is the difference between PAPI, CAPI, CATI and CAWI?

PAPI is done face to face with pen and paper, CAPI face to face with a tablet or computer. CATI is run by phone and CAWI through an online link. Which one fits depends on the target audience, questionnaire length, timeline and budget.

Can more than one method be used in the same project?

Yes. For example, we can add telephone or online collection for participants who cannot be reached face to face. In that case we make sure the questionnaire follows the same flow on every channel.

In what format do you deliver the data?

We agree on the delivery format at the start of the project. We can deliver in common formats such as Excel or SPSS.

Do you prepare the questionnaire?

We run the field and data collection side. If you need help with questionnaire design, we can work on it together under our research and consulting service.

Do you test the questionnaire before fieldwork?

Yes. We test it with pilot interviews in the setting it will be used in: on paper, on a tablet, by phone or on the web. Unclear questions and faulty skips are fixed at this stage.
