Field operations and team management

Run your fieldwork without growing your own staff. We build, train and manage the team, track quotas every day, check the data while fieldwork runs and deliver it to you. You keep a single point of contact.

Why is fieldwork a specialism of its own?

However good a research design is, the reliability of the data is decided in the field.

A misunderstood question, an unfilled quota or an unsupervised interview weakens the ground your analysis stands on. That is why field operations are much more than finding interviewers.

When we run field operations, research companies and institutions go into the field without growing their own staff.

Scope

What we take on

We rebuild the team for every project, watch the field every day and check the data while fieldwork runs.

Coordination and daily tracking

Coordination is the bridge between the team and the project owner. We answer interviewers’ questions in the field and rearrange task allocation when needed.

If progress falls behind plan, we tell you early and discuss the options with you.

Quality control happens in the field, not after it.

Most data errors can’t be fixed once they are noticed late. That’s why we check interviews within the fieldwork process.

Field team setup

We rebuild the team for every project. A team doing telephone interviews and a team going door to door don’t need the same skills.

Interviewer and researcher pool

Field plan

We turn the sample, regions and timeline agreed at briefing into a task allocation and schedule.

Process

How it runs in the field.

Field operations run in four stages. Once fieldwork starts, we share progress with you regularly.

  1. Step 01

    Planning

We turn the sample, regions and timeline agreed at briefing into a task allocation.

  2. Step 02

    Team and training

We assign suitable interviewers and work through the questionnaire and field rules together.

  3. Step 03

    Fieldwork and tracking

Interviews start; we track quotas, completed interviews and field issues every day.

  4. Step 04

    Control and delivery

We re-verify suspicious records and deliver cleaned data with a fieldwork summary.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Didn’t find your answer?Write to us and we’ll answer your question together.
Can I outsource only part of the field operation to you?

Yes. You can get support with a narrower scope, such as team setup only, training only or quality control only. We define the scope together based on what your project needs.

What information do you need to plan the fieldwork?

Target audience, sample size, interview method, field area and delivery timeline. None of it has to be final; we can clarify the gaps together.

How do you track the fieldwork?

We monitor quotas and completed interviews every day. If progress falls behind plan, we tell you early and discuss the options with you.

How do you select the field team?

We choose candidates from our pool who fit the project’s target audience, method and field area. The team is built anew for each project and receives project-specific training before going into the field.

Do we receive reports on the fieldwork?

Yes. We share progress with you regularly throughout the fieldwork and send a summary of the field process together with the data at delivery. We agree on the report format at the start of the project.
